Welcome to the Lynchburg Area Newcomers Club!
The objects of our club is to bring people together into an organized group to promote friendship and aid them in learning about the Lynchburg area.
The Lynchburg Area Newcomers Club came to being in February 1957. Over the last 50 some years, many people have adjusted to their new living environment by enjoying the benefits of our friendly group. Our longest-standing member joined in 1977. We have four members who joined in the 1980s, and nineteen who joined in the 1990s. On average, we have over 100 members.
Any woman who lives in our area and wishes to subscribe to the object of the club shall be eligible for membership. We have a wide range of ages, interests, and home locations among our members. Currently, we remain an all-female club but have activities where couples are welcome to attend (husbands, partners, friends).
Membership meetings are held at our monthly luncheons on the 2nd Thursday of every month at an area restaurant or other venue. Programs for the luncheons may include speakers on various topics of local interest. Certain months we’ll meet at a specific location with a catered lunch.
We are an organization providing social opportunities. As a member, you are invited to join any of our interest groups.
Welcome Coffees are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at a member’s home.
